When cleaning your home, make sure this is done consistently and in an orderly fashion. Decide on your approach and be consistent. If you decide to clean for an hour, stick to it. Indecision and distraction such as young children crawling around your foot can affect how well and thorough you clean. If you begin cleaning one thing and end up doing another, you will end up with a household of half-finished cleaning duties.
It is best to start with the room that requires the least amount of effort, generally the room that is used the least and less cluttered. Start with the lightest task, and you will see result immediately, this will motivate you to keep going.
Work from top to bottom, dust from the light fixtures, tops of furniture will fall onto the carpet and you do not want to be going back over items you have already clean causing double the workload. So do the floors last and you will know that your house really is clean.
The most important tip is not to backtrack. Finish one cleaning task e.g. the dusting before moving to another. Make sure you listen to your favourite music tracks to set the pace and keep you going.
