Your kitchen pantry may be a gourmets dream but it can also be a house cleaner’s treasure chest full of amazing home cleaners. Here are some of Houseprouds favourite pantry items with magic home cleaning powers.
Tomato sauce Sometimes when we are tired and stressed we have to rely on this to make our meals kid friendly, we can also rely on it to help us clean. As a staple in our pantry it can make copper and brass cookware shiny and new again. All you do is squeeze a little sauce onto a cloth and rub on pots and pans to home clean them. Rinse well afterwards.
White bread while we are going to tell you this can be used to home clean an oil painting, it should be mentioned that if you’re painting is old or valuable, cleaning should be DONE BY PROFESSIONALS ONLY.
You can seriously ruin an oil painting by doing the cleaning yourself. We recommend you let the professionals do their thing.
If your oil painting is not so valuable, then to home clean it simply dab a slice of bread on the surface of the oil painting to absorb any dirt or grime.
Oatmeal When mixed with water into a thick paste, this breakfast cereal doubles as heavy duty hand soap.
Tea Instead of tossing teabags out after your breakfast cuppa, save them and add shine to your wooden furniture by wiping it with a soft cloth dipped in tea water.
Olive oil your salad dressing can be a fabulous, and natural, furniture polish. Add shine and lustre to wooden bookshelves, wooden coffee and dinning tables by rubbing them with a cloth soaked in a little olive oil.
Coffee There is nothing like the aroma of coffee to mask a bad smell. Tip a cup of coffee grinds into the kitchen sink and slowly pour a kettle of boiling water down the sink to get rid of smelly odours.
